![]() The bore has decent rifling with spotty oxidation throughout. ![]() The stock is excellent with minor dings and scratches here and there. Overall, the gun is in excellent condition with areas of minor scratchy wear around the muzzle, on the barrel, on the barrel bands, and on the floor plate. it has the proper Argentine crest on the chamber and "Star RA" or "Republic of Argentina" markings on the top of the hand guard and underside of the butt stock. Comes with an original flip-up muzzle cover. This one is completely matching, including the cleaning rod and wood stock. The main producer in Germany was Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken that delivered 200,000 rifles while around 85,000 rifles were manufactured by the Fabrica Militar de Armas Portatiles, governmental plants in Rosario and Santa Fe. The M1909 was also able to use the bayonet of the Mauser 1891 it replaced. Among other modifications, the Lange Visier sight was replaced by a tangent leaf sight. Whether made by Loewe or DWM, the 1891 Argentine Mausers are beautifully made firearms well-known for their spectacular receiver markings. The Mauser 1909 was a slightly modified copy of the Gewehr 98. Rollmarked from Berlin and shipped to Argentina, the 1891 Mauser would also have the Argentine national crest on the front receiver band. 11/19/21 - This is an excellent example of an Argentine Mauser Model 1909 made by the DWM factory in Germany in the early 1900's.
